Dare to wear it pink day

The Town Hall, Scarborough

Staff from Scarborough Borough Council will join hundreds of people up and down the country on Friday 31 October by wearing pink in support of the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The colour pink will be the order of the day as staff from across the authority support the Breast Cancer Campaign by donning pink ties, shirts, feather boas and other items of pink clothing in order to support the campaign and help fund vital research.  Generous donations will be given for the privilege of wearing any shade of pink.

Gabrielle Jandzio, Communications Officer said:

“Everyone has really got into the pink spirit in a fun way to raise money for this very worthy cause.  There are very few people today who don’t know someone who has been affected by breast cancer and so it is a cause that touches all our lives in one way or another and we are happy to be able to support it.”

Extra funds will be raised from a pink themed homemade baking sale.
