New Planning Application Fees

On 6 April 2008 new planning application fees came into effect.  Included in the change to planning fees is a new fee for confirmation of compliance with conditions.

The new fee associated with this category is £25.00 (per request) for applications on or within the curtilage of a dwelling house or £85.00 (per request) for all other development.

New Requirements for Information Submitted with Planning Applications

On 6 April 2008 new criteria on the information required to be submitted with planning applications comes into force. These are known as 'validation criteria'.  The validation criteria are split into National and Local Requirements and are designed to provide more information at the start of the application process.

The new requirements will be used alongside new national Standard Application Forms (1APP) to validate applications.  Each type of planning application has its own validation requirements for submission.  If you are submitting an application the requirements for submission by application type are available from the Planning forms page.

Scarborough Borough Council consulted on their new local validation criteria and a report was presented at Planning and Development Committee on 3 April 2008.
