Community Safety

The crime and disorder reduction strategy addresses key priorities in relation to crime and disorder, it also provides information about priorities and initiatives. Reporting tends to be done locally and the partnerships aggregate and anonymise data to support decision making.

The Safer Communities Partnership is a multi-agency Partnership with a statutory responsibility to address crime, disorder and drug misuse in the Borough.
 
A co-located team of officers from Scarborough Borough Council (some funded by the Home Office) and North Yorkshire Police has been established to oversee and co-ordinate the Borough’s Crime, Disorder and Drug Reduction Strategy. The team is based at the Town Hall in Scarborough.
